Product Description


1 Overview


The MT160 instrument is an intelligent ultrasonic thickness gauge, using high-performance, low-power microprocessor technology, based on the principle of ultrasonic measurement, can measure the thickness of metals and other materials, and can measure the speed of sound of materials. It can monitor various pipes and pressure vessels in the production equipment, monitor the degree of thinning after they are corroded during use, and can also make accurate measurements on various plates and various processed parts. This instrument can be widely used in various fields such as petroleum, chemical industry, metallurgy, shipbuilding, aviation and aerospace.




2 Technical parameters


Display method: high-contrast segment code liquid crystal display, high-brightness EL backlight;


Measuring range: 0.75~300mm (in steel), metric system and imperial system can be selected;


Sound speed range: 1000~9999 m/s:


Resolution: 0.1/0.01mm (optional)


Indication accuracy: ±(0.5%H+0.04)mm H is the actual thickness of the measured object


Measurement cycle: 4 times/sec in single point measurement, 10 times/sec in scan mode;


Storage capacity: 20 groups (99 measurement values per group) of thickness measurement data can be stored, and can be connected to a micro printer or PC to achieve mass storage.


Working voltage: 3V (2 AA size alkaline batteries connected in series)


Continuous working time: about 100 hours (when the backlight is not turned on)

3 main functions


  Suitable for measuring the thickness of metals (such as steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper, etc.), plastics, ceramics, glass, glass fibers and any other good conductors of ultrasound;


It can be equipped with a variety of dual crystal probes with different frequencies and different chip sizes;


It has the functions of probe zero calibration and two-point calibration, which can automatically correct the system error;


Known thickness can measure sound velocity inversely to improve measurement accuracy;


With the function of coupling status prompt;


With EL backlight display, it is convenient to use in dimly lit environments;


There is a remaining power indicator function, which can display the remaining battery power in real time;

4 working principle


The thickness measurement of this ultrasonic thickness gauge is that the ultrasonic pulse generated by the probe passes through the couplant to reach the measured body. Part of the ultrasonic signal is reflected by the bottom surface of the object. The probe receives the echo reflected by the bottom surface of the measured body and accurately calculates the ultrasonic wave. Round trip time, and calculate the thickness value according to the following formula, and then display the calculated result.

7 Main display interface

Information display: display the thickness measurement value and simple operation prompt information.
